About Christian Surfers

The perfection of the ocean and the waves which

rise up and break with such energy are evidence enough.

At Christian Surfers UK we are a group of full-on surfers

who are also committed Christians and we see God’s

signature written all over his creation.

Our desire is to experience this amazing God for

ourselves through a personal relationship with his son

Jesus Christ. Our aim is therefore a simple one: to tell

other surfers that they too can have a relationship

  with Jesus Christ.

We are not a church, but our members represent a wide

range of different churches to which they belong.  However,

it is a main objective to bridge the gap between the beach

  community and the church.

We are clear that we are not Christians because of

any of the good things we might have done, nor that

we go to church. God saves us by his grace alone.

Christian Surfers UK exists to be a Christian presence and

witness to the entire surfing community, within the UK,

Ireland and Europe. We are evangelistic in intent, majoring

on Christ, the Gospel, and the Bible.

We encourage surfers to reach other surfers, with a

culturally relevant message. We submit to Christ through

servanthood, rather than serving the sport of surfing through

selfish ambition. We integrate with our local communities,

while creating a Christian community for outreach. We are

committed to loving one another. We are locally based and

accountable through many Christian church denominations.

We are transforming the wider surfing culture by both

individual conversions as well as influencing our sub-culture.

We are working with God and what he is already doing

through others, while respecting and partnering with other

  ministries.

Our ministry is based on serving others through relationship.

We are a 'bottom up movement' empowering and

developing the local ministry level. We are mobilising

Christian volunteers for outreach, while helping them fulfil

their God given calling and potential.

  "I accepted Jesus

  Christ at Calvary

  Chapel in Melbourne.

I find that when I know

his will is being done in

  my life, satisfaction is

  guaranteed".

When interviewed about why he thanked

God as the first person acknowledged in

his world title CJ Hobgood said, "He

pretty much is my life, and I try to be on

  his path. He has

  given me

  everything that I

  have, this has

  nothing to do with

  me at all..."
